Trial Slated In Robberies
Donald E. Smith Named in 6 Charges
Donald Edward Smith, 24, identified by witnesses as the man who robbed several Tulsa businesses at gunpoint during a two-week period, Thursday was ordered to stand trial in District Court.
Smith is named on five armed robbery counts and one charge of auto theft.
He is accused of robbing the Cardinal Food Store, 801 N. Sheridan road, Nov. 27; Furr’s Grocery and Market, 1822 W. Edison St. Nov. 28; Martin’s Bar B-Q, 1401 N. Sheridan Place, Dec. 3; McIntyre’s Grocery, 537 S. Columbia Ave., Dec. 5; and Quik-Trip No. 5, 215 S. garnett Road, Dec. 6.
Smith also is charged with stealing an automobile from Ronald E. Money on Nov. 27. The car allegedly was used in at least one of the robberies.
